There is an alpha realplayer. It takes up all of your cpu cycles no
matter what else is running no matter how fast your computer is.
Apparently if you pause it and wait for the cpu cycles to go down and
then unpause it, the problem is fixed but that doesn't seem to work.
Anyways, it is only annoying in that the cpu usage bar is always at
100%, but it isn't really USING it all: you can still run a number of
other processes and realplayer adjusts its cpu usage w/o causing any
quality degradation. It is certainly odd. I *had* the link to the alpha
player but I lost it. It is somewhere fairly deep within the real site.
good luck. (hopefully mozilla, eventually, will rescue the *nix
community from this netscape crap.)
