Two words "Big Brother". They use the modem itself to track usage and exactly
how much data you send and receive, and if you bust their limits you will get
warned, then flat out turned off. I have some personal experience with this. If
you are using Redhat distro make sure you get the new and improved version of
pump from their website. It makes things go much smoother as far as continuous
usage.
