I have two cards which have done this. Most notably the 3dfx Vodoo3 2000
PCI, but also a 4 MB S3 Virge GX-2 AGP made by A-Trend I think, maybe
A-Open. Anyhow both crash X sometimes when I move/resize a window. I no
longer touch Netscape windows as they always crash the server (any
window drawn by a netscape process). Also, trying to highlight an area
of a picture to crop crashes the server. Whenever this happens, I am
reduced to hitting reset on the case. I am running 3.3.5-1.6.0 RPMs
of XFree86. The box is RedHat 6.0 with a 2.2.12 kernel. Something else
that doesn't really matter but would be nice, if I try to select the
Microsoft Natural keyboard setting in XF86Setup, it crashes. I can go
to another vt and kill it but it would be nice to have the right kb map.
