Benjamin -
Are you installing off of a commercial CD, or a download/burned image? I
downloaded and burned a RH 6.1/Sparc image, and I can't get it to install,
either. I think it is a bad burn or image. The Intel CD I got from
Cheapbytes is fine. Are there any other messages on any of the other
consoles you can share with us?
By the way, the "autopartitioning failed" message is normal. It just
means that you chose a custom install, and there were no instrutions in
the setup script for automatically creating the partitions for a
Workstation or Server class install.
If it turns out to be a bad CD, order a cheap CD from Cheapbytes
(http://www.cheapbytes.com). I have had really great luck with their
stock. Or, if you'd like, you can bring your system by our offices
after 5pm and I'll let you do an install off our servers. I can't do it
during the day because I'm teaching an accelerated Red Hat class for
Dell Computer Corp, so I'll be pretty busy from 8 to 5 through Wednesday.

Thomas Cameron
