Actuallky it was the 6.0 pump that was weird.  I think the dhcpd instead
of pump suggestion of an earlier poster is the way to go.  pump is
supposed to be a "one size fits all" solution for bootp and dhcp.
Unfortunately, it's more like "one size fits none."
