Ok, I did a fresh install of 6.2 last night. To make a long story short,
there is no inetd.conf file. inetd is not running...
Since Red Hat has taken liberties with the tree structure in the past, my
suspision is that they descided to muck around with inetd, rename it or
something (inet doesn't appear to be installed anywhere). The other option
is that the installer is broken. But, there are no patches on redhat.com
for this...
Anyway, I just want to confirm that red hat changed this and it's not a
bug or anything. If they did, it is the anvil that broke the camels back.
I will install debain or suse at that point.
namaste,
Mark
