IIRC Best Power supports linux officially. Damn if I recall their
domain name though. I think the (UPS? Powerd?)-HOWTO also had some
recommendations. I think powerd might work with a UPS even if you didn't
know the wire protocol (i.e. it goes into "idiot mode" and starts a
shutdown whenever the voltage fluctuates on the rs232 indicating some sort
of signal from the UPS; which is far from ideal admittedly but better
than nothing).
