freebsd mounting problem

i'm trying to mount my cdrom on a newly installed freebsd system, and it's
not working for some reason this is what i'm doing...

mount /dev/acd0a /cdrom

the cdrom revs up when i do that, but it just says 

:incorrect super block:

and doesn't mount the cdrom...anyone got any ideas?
