Sorry - I went and found the original discussion thread I saw the microcode link. It is hiding in IBM's desktop support: http://www-1.ibm.com/support/manager.wss?rs=0&rt=0&org=psg&doc=MIGR-38933
It says it's for IBM IntelliStations, but then goes on to say it's a generic DeskStar drive upgrade. I have not run this utility as I do not have any 75GXPs. I don't know what, if anything, happens to the data on the drive.
