I now have access to a few new macs with the nice DVD-R drives and just got some fresh dvd-r discs in. I havn't found any clear details about mkisofs and DVD and am hoping someone has a little more clue than I. My hope is a permanent archive of my mp3's without losing the many long filenames. I'm planning to premaster with mkisofs, and take the image on a 7200 rpm hard drive, fat32 partition (macs will read it just fine) for burning.
1. How many characters can be stored in a filename in Rock Ridge? Joliet? 2. I was trying to translate something off google groups, and my understanding was that DVD-data is just a big mode 1 ISO image, and mkisofs will do. Is this correct? 3. Can Toast 5 Platinum for Mac burn an ISO image to DVD? Patrick _______________________________________________ Siglinux mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.utacm.org/mailman/listinfo/siglinux
