Hi!

I'm new to the list. My name is Matthias, I am a student at Hochschule
Augsburg. We are a group of students working on the software development
of a logic analyzer board which had been developed by another student as
his Bachelor thesis.

We have also stumbled across the sigrok project. Maybe we can integrate
our "analyzer" (development still in progress). To test the sigrok
environment and play around with it I downloaded and compiled the
sources, this worked out so far. I have borrowed a logic analyzer from
university: it's a Salea Logic (8-channel logic analyzer, see the wiki:
http://sigrok.org/wiki/Saleae_Logic).

The wiki says it's using the fx2lafw firmware - which seems to be very
common. I have read somewhere in the wiki that this firmware get's
flashed before each measurement is taken by sigrok. Can I save or
download the original firmware somewhere? Are there any tools? Because I
don't like to change the firmware on a borrowed device. Or is the
alternative firmware only an extension and the device can still be used
with it's original firmware?

Thanks for your help!

Cheers
Matthias
