Okay, but I think the first steps will however work with a (virtual)
serial interface. As I already mentioned in my last mail to Alex there's
a free USB stack for Atmel AVR uCs called LUFA.

It would be great to complete the "device chain" for measurements within
the last few weeks and days instead of putting to much time and effort
into USB low level programming. Unfortunately the hardware is already
specified.
