Dear Matthias,

I wanted to talk to you about QtDMM and QtDMM2. I'd like to use QtDMM
or QtDMM2 as a GUI for sigrok's DMM support. It seems like your code
would be a really help the sigrok project.

Yesterday, I spent some time importing QtDMM into Git, and with one or
two remaining hacks, it compiles and runs on Qt4:

https://github.com/jhol/qtdmm

Also, I took at look at QtDMM2 - but as far as I could see you never
made a GUI release - only the cdmm library and command line tool. Is
this correct? Do you have any - even unfinished GUI code you could share?

Also, I've been thinking about cdmm. I wonder how hard it would be to
combine the devices you support into libsigrok.

The main sticking point is that QtDMM2 and cdmm are licensed
GPLv2-only, but sigrok is licensed GPLv3-or-later. So to be able to
integrate this code it would need to be relicensed. Would you be
willing to consider relicensing to something compatible, for example
GPLv2-or-later?

Anyway, I think there's lots of potential for collaboration, so I'd
love to hear what you think. And if you want to make contact with the
sigrok crowd, I recommend stopping by the #sigrok IRC channel on freenode.

Best Regards
Joel Holdsworth
