Hi Duane, At the moment support for saving config is extremely limited. One of the goals of the new file format (which has been discussed for over a year now), is to allow a place for PulseView to serialize its state.
If you would like to give some time to improving sigrok, I recommend joining us on the sigrok IRC channel to discuss your ideas.
