Whatever I try, I cannot reproduce your problem.
Everything works fine.

This is the script, I use on both machines (with the correct IP
addresses of course ;-)
After starting the script on command line on one machine, I have 10
seconds, to start it on the second machine.
The rest is "self synchronizing" ;-)
The only difference left is that I am still using the
SimpleXMLRPCServer, now in a thread, so I can run the tests in the same
script.
BTW: How do you stop your scripts, my setup does not terminate, since
the thread blocks it. So I have to abort it using ctrl-c.
