ok, I will not change anything about that in version 1.1.x.
Version 2 will have a completely revised image handling, where you can
freely decide where to store your images.
For now: If you want to be sure, that SikuliX does not delete any images:
switch off Preferences -> more options -> options on save -> delete not used
images
BTW: Using SaveAs to store something into an existing .sikuli folder,
whose content might be at least partly be secured, is generally not a
good idea.
