I was hunting for a specific case, but didn't find it. But a minute of
searching turned up these, which basically tells me that
- Some random person deciding to report you for child endangerment or
abandonment for lett the kid walk to school alone
- The CPS case worker deciding to file an adverse report (at their sole
discretion)
Could potentially lead to both the child being taken away as well as
charges being filed against the parents.
