Also, if you want to get really nerdy about it -- and of course you do! -- these days there are USB charging ports in the strangest of places (even my couch has one for some reason), and it can helps to see how well/poorly your devices are charging on them with a power tester like this one [1]. Pretty interesting to see what's going on across the cable.
