Careful with that brush, brotha. Societies are run by algorithms. Some algorithms are more useful than others, long-term. Dictatorship is the best possible organization form with the right person at the helm, and the worst possible with the wrong one. Since power seized will soon be passed on to an idiot, and there is no mechanism built-in to remove an idiot, dictatorship will eventually tank, and the society OS has to be reinstalled from scratch, with much dead bodies dangling from the streetlights. That kinda sucks, and this is why we're stuck with this particular suboptimal configuration. Co-operation is a function of agent intelligence however, so a society of people++ will be far more bottom-up. Meaning, enlightened people will tend to anarchies, with very little centralism and top-down.
