this is an unrelated post to the Jewish theme. but just wanted to mention that when i was in Greece in 2001 i had the opportunity to see the graveyard for Indian soldiers who had died in the First world war in Thessaloniki while serving in the British army. It was a really moving moment to see the homely names written in hindi and Greek.
