so what sort of beans are we talking about exactly? (green) beans [1]? dried 
beans [2]? or chana dal  which is what occurred to me, not knowing the kannada 
etymology of bengal i thought it may refer to bengal gram (apparently very good 
for diabetics [3]).

if a city is going to be named after beans, we should all be clear about what 
we're talking about.
