This was actually first "broke" by Reuters and then blogged by a USA Today writer: http://today.reuters.co.uk/news/articlenews.aspx?type=oddlyEnoughNews&storyID=2006-11-30T033706Z_01_PEK202036_RTRIDST_0_OUKOE-UK-CHINA-TOILET.XML&WTmodLoc=HP-C13-Oddly-2 http://blogs.usatoday.com/sky/2006/11/in_custcutting_.html
I've never found the story itself that interesting, but the discussion was hilarious. The blog site contains as much as you'll find on this discussion. I'm still not sold that it costs that much to flush. My first thought is that we'd better make some better toilets, not, let's take away toilets. Thats bass-akwards thinking, IMHO. Casey
