Ethiopian food is remarkably similar to Malayali food. They have the equivalent of an Appam (called injera) with yellow dry cabbage which tastes like 'toran' and a beef stew (called wat). Adit.

I found a rather more curious connection in ethiopia. I met an ethiopian guy in the town of Gondar (note the name) in northern ethiopia who was doing some anthropological research on some of the older tribes in the region... he had studied in India, and found a lot of similarity between the Gonds of india, and certain tribes in the area around Gondar who also believed they were from a land called Gondwana land...and the languages and tribal dieties had many striking similarities.....
