The saddest part about it is, for all the anti-whatever
rhetoric....Its a circus no different from the conferences run by
other organizations they claim to be against....the world bank, the un
etc...

many of the speeches are the same "capacity building" speeches... they
even blamed the kenyan organizers for all the chaos (which is exactly
what donor agencies say when a project of theirs fails...) . no one
is certain why nairobi was chosen as the venue, apparently it was
"just decided" - again... which is the way many donor agencies decide
to implement projects..("lets just decide to give them a fish
processing factory.....oh we forgot...there aint no fish....")

and no one wants to mention that a large part of the funding for the
conference is coming from capitalist european governments.... and
capitalist sponsorship.

Funny enough, the Chinese had a small "capitalist" stall selling
t-shirts, and the chap there actually spoke some sense.

1. Charge a high entry fee way above the per capita income in the
country, and then waive that after slum dwellers protest its way too high

2. Have a five star hotel do catering, selling meals for $7 apiece - and
have their catering tent raided by slum kids, along with some wsf
participants intent on getting free food and revenge on capitalist
running dogs of five star hotel imperialism.

What fun.
