This year's been funny for me so far ... Flown in so many of them ... And just in Jan/Feb/Mar 1) Kingfisher -- definitely the BEST in terms of service per rupee spent! 2) Jet -- too expensive, service comparable to Kingfisher 3) Indian (formerly Indian airlines) -- stable, service exists 4) Deccan -- least expensive (follow the yield Mgmt pricing of JetBlue and SouthWest), no service at all 5) Go Air 6) Indigo 7) Sahara 8) SpiceJet -- pretty good value for money
Go, Indigo and Sahara provide normal service. The thing to watch out for is the prices ... You could get Deccan tickets for Rs. 5000 and Kingfisher for Rs. 3000 depending on which website and what time you book. Best bets are yatra.com, cleartrip.com and makemytrip.com or the websites of the airline itself. Also, in worst cases, where you are already at the airport and need to fly out immediately, Indian Airlines makes the most sense as their "immediate last-minute" ticketing prices are the best. If you haven't flown in India before, I would recommend NOT to fly Deccan as a first timer. - Vinit > -----Original Message----- > From: > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > et] On Behalf Of ashok _ > Sent: Sunday, April 01, 2007 12:38 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: [silk] indian budget airlines > > Any suggestions on which budget airlines in india to avoid / > go for.....? > > Have been warned about the one called Air Deccan by many people... >
