you, willing to do some complicated calculations to make the divvying
fair!

I've been in situations where we are all on expense accounts so need to
produce bills to be reimbursed. We still shared multiple dishes.

Just got the restaurant to add one food item + one drink on each guy's
bill, make up a rough total. Worked out to more or less the same amount
paid by each guy, somehow or the other. [This was chinese, so big plate of
dim sum, seafood fried rice, kung pao chicken, some kind of beef marinated
in a bunch of spices, forgot the name, noodle soup <- which I'm addicted
to, ditto "pho", the vietnamese variant] etc.
