I'm no expert, but presumably they were known as Bharat, although I'm willing to bet that when those invaders pictured Bharat in their heads they didn't have anything like the extent of modern India in there. In any case, my point was that invasion from outside wasn't that big a deal because all the existing kingdoms were invading each other all the time anyway. B
