Earthenware drink-ware (clay/ceramic mugs or glasses) tend to hold warmth much 
longer - a fact that made me suffer huge mugfuls of dilute and piping hot 
coffee in hospital common rooms in the UK. 

OTOH this silly Bengaluru/MTR penchant for silver coffee cups ensures early 
heat loss even as you burn your fingers, lips and tongue.

One nurse in a Hospital (in Bengaluru) had an innovative name for these minute 
cups of coffee - she would say "Here - have a 'test dose' of coffee"
