there is this small village driving distance from mysore called talakad... which has a lot of half buried temples, and a strange legend. the place and the people themselves are quite strange and interesting..... on the way there is a picturesque place at the confluence of three rivers called t.narsipur... plenty of other small villages where you find some astonishing hoysala temples (i cant recall the names) and in many cases people living within the temple complex...as it has been abandoned.
