NH-5 is great road. At least one of the few roads in south India which is well maintained. "Well Maintained" == "Too many Toll Plaza's" , which is kinda annyoing after every 100 - 150 Kms. I have done this route, till vijayawada. Chittoor - Kurnool is a bad idea. No good restrooms all along the stretch and the climate is usually hot all around the year.
