Nothing surprising there - original Indian academic research even in our greatest universities is a rare phenomenon. I've had to include the name of a professor of mine and his friend, a professor at another college as authors in a college research paper I independently wrote. To my knowledge this professor and his friend had no expertise in any of the subjects on which me or their past students had published papers.
Indian academia is mostly a cesspool of corruption and dishonesty.
