Another factor that went against Nok Air on this route was the poor
on-ward connectivity to other destinations in South East Asia. Full
service carriers such as Thai, Singapore Airlines, Malaysia Airlines

destinations beyond Thailand. They also offer several value holiday
packages and competitive air fares regularly.
IMO, this lack of connectivity is a significant concern. I had two
pay for two Thai visas despite the fact that my destination was Laos,
not Thailand, because there no option for connecting with another
flight, not even Nok-Air's own flights.
For instance, they fly (flew?) Bangalore-Bangkok and Bangkok-Hanoi,
but had no option for booking Bangalore-Hanoi. To fly to Vietnam, I
would have had to stand in queue for two hours in Bangkok, pay for a
visa (B1000 ~= Rs 1240), get out to baggage claim and check my bags
back in, and repeat process again on the return leg.
Not particularly appealing.
I did like having an airline that was cheap as long as my time wasn't
valuable, though.
