Maybe it is a language-based thingy? That is, if your language of
choice is English then all Google News sites in English (.com, .co.uk,
.co.in, .com.au etc.) will recognize you but not .fr or .de or .es?
AFAIK, Germany has very strict privacy laws, and so does France. Not
sure about Spain. Could that be the reason?
