Really? I thought it was a Westernism inherited from the Victorian sexual mores of the Raj and the Arabic sexual mores of the Mughals. My impression of original Hindu sexual attitudes was that they were originally much more open and tolerant. Krishna and the Gopis, Arjuna and Draupadi, erotic temple decorations and so on. I've learned of some from you - temple pillars with men gazing lustfully. So is not prudery an alien intrusion into otherwise tolerant Hinduism? -- Charles
