see shiv, democracy is so much stronger in india! you can be jailed and still stand for election (ok, this was perhaps in memory of jailed freedom fighters, not corrupt murderers) in india. in the US after a felony charge you can often not even vote, let alone be elected. which is actually pretty bad. -rishab
