I agree. I am half-way through the book and The Enchantress of
Florence is proving to be a very enjoyable read. Rushdie has returned
to well-written, *readable* prose (like in the days of Midnight's
Children and Haroun and Verses). The prose in his previous 3 books
(Fury, Ground Beneath her Feet and Shalimar) gave me indigestion from
being too heavy.

Shiv, what did you find boring about Verses?
