>>And at last the time was right. Eighteen centuries of stony sleep were
vexed to nightmare by a clicking mouse, and her work was seized on by movie
poster designers looking for something classic and imposing. The darkness
drops, but it's just the movie starting…with titles in Trajan.

:)
what is also significant that Carol Tyombly, the designer of Trajan, is one
of the few female voices - and a super successful one at that - in the
largely male dominated field of typography and typeface design.
this reminds me of Zuana Licko's homage to the forgotten women of
typography. When Licko designed a revival of the English face, Baskerville,
she named it Mrs. Eaves, after Sarah Eaves, John Baskerville's housekeeper,
mistress and eventual wife, who also helped him with his typesetting work.

I have been using Baskerville quite often recently - it is a great face,
with a lot of character. And Baskerville has always been a favourite face
for typesetting books. Many of the early 80s titles from Oxford University
Press in India used to be set in Baskerville, courtesy the finely honed
typographic sensibilities of East End Printers.
