For 22 years my wife, and for the last 10 years my daughter, have resisted the
idea of my shaving off my moustache. I did do that a few months ago and re
grew it.

I shaved it temporarily (in 2008) because my grey hair and black hair were
asymmterical. The gap has made my entire moustache grey.

A lot of Indians believe it is effeminate not to have a moustache. Men must
have facial hair. This is probably a cultural thing as per the psychological
works I have read. indian men often display behavior that is effeminate by
Western standards.

With little hair on my head and my current practice of wearing what hair I
have very short. my face without a moustache looks like an egg. It looks like
an egg with a grey moustahe now, but since eggs with moustaches are an
uncommon sight (at least in India), the association is less easily made.
