Mustache (abt 20 yrs old) and a Van Dyke (4 yrs old, this). Once shaved it off and my wife threatened to throw me out. Evidently, I look awful without facial hair. Cultural or otherwise, I feel naked if I am clean shaven. My daughter and son find it "pricky" if I have a stubble, so I shave/trim almost on a daily basis. My wife keeps her counsel, except from forbidding me to shave it all off. Venkat
