> > The disease is elsewhere. The BJP is the disease. > > And we fools elected them.
> Actually we elected them on the rebound after Deve Gowda's son - > who did a reasonably good job of governance did something > phenomenally stupid. Well he was some sort of glove to the BJP hand. While he was at the helm the BJP got a free run to integrate support from their next voters. All well orchestrated. The last good govt we had in karnataka was when S M Krishna was the CM. From then on we are going from bad to worse. > I see two curious things happening > 1) The non BJP parties in Karnataka are sitting dead quiet. > Why? Are they sure that the BJP will take a beating? They have simply run out of steam. And what steam they lose now will be of no use for the next 4 years. All these nuts will come out of their hibernation towards the end of this term. Till then we fools can enjoy the treatment. > 2) The Rajasthan (Congress) CM's statement echoing Muthalik is a > problem as is > a similar statement by Laloo or was it Mulayam. Part of the problem is having old men running this country. And to add to that the young are supposed to literally worship their elders in this country (sic). The young people don't seem to have a mind of their own. They lack guts. There is no rebellious attitude at all. Also there is hardly a proper stirring and mixing happening in this country. Just imagine if all young people decide to fall in love with and marry people only from outside their religious background !!! > One of the things that was pointed out to me by at least a couple > of people about what gets the goat of Muthalik's supporters in > Mangalore is not the change per se - but the rate at which society > has changed to produce a new class of people who behave in a > particular way. What would be most proper at this stage is to fight propaganda with truth. If one of us could list out exhaustively all the fallacious arguments of these nuts, and produce a point by point rebuttal and publish it in a widespread manner, we can still do a lot. And who better than Shiv to do it? We can all pool in and publish it in the papers all over India in both english and local languages. Lukhman
