I never thought of Flickr as a blogging medium but I have seen a lot
of people use it that way :)
Many photos are more interesting when you know the context.

I do that too once in a while. For example guy kawasaki generally
posts some good links but also a lot of crap about alltop (which is a
glorified RSS reader) I couldn't care less about.

I find that there are no good filtering mechanisms (having used
twitterfox/tweetdeck) for that. It maybe that my use-case is not
suited for twitter and or I haven't found a good client yet.
