I want to get a phone that can be used as a USB and Bluetooth modem with Linux. I had a Nokia E61 for a while, and it worked well (as a modem; as a phone, it was extraordinarily slow and painful). I want to replace it with something (much) cheaper.
Many of the new(-ish) Nokia phones might fit the bill, but does anyone have specific recommendations? And does anyone think one of the other manufacturers (about whose phones I know nothing) has a better phone? Price is definitely the major consideration here. I'm not going to use it for anything but mobile connectivity, so any "value additions" are a complete waste of time. -- ams
