SRS: Allow me to bust your chicory bubble a bit. The acid indigestion IMHO is a function of the coffee. I come from a family of chicory snobs

perhaps its a cheaper grade of coffee in india that gets cut with chicory?
the really expensive blends are never cut with chicory. in fact ground
chicory is something that came in from the "new world" - where coffee wasnt
too easy to get, and they needed something to adulterate it with, to make
it last longer.

no matter that such coffee tasted better to some palates so it became an
accepted convention for some blends (italian / french / new orleans roasts)

and I think it adds to the coffee. You should do like the Italians and eat our version of biscotti with your coffee-- the simple Marie biscuit will do.

Rusks. Britannia milk rusks. Or osmania cookies (the so-called "tea kadai
butter biscuit" in madras, though as a longtime hyderabadi, osmania is what
they call those things in irani cafes)

I would like to know from Silk List where good coffee blends for home brewing can be bought in Bangalore. I buy Kothas coffee (with 30% chicory) from my local Benson Town Family Supermarket. And you know what? It ain't bad at all.

Try the blends from cafe coffee day (not the aircon coffee shops where you
buy overpriced capuccino, they have storefronts with sacks of coffee and a
big electric grinder). Or try leo top blend .. if its available in madras,
pretty safe bet it'll be around in bangalore too.

Tried cothas, didnt like it too well.
