I apppreciate the honesty. > And people felt most uneasy answering the > question about sexual orientation.) All Indians on this list (and yes I am shamelessly generaliazing and speaking for everyone) are Macaulayites who derive their inputs primarily from the West. Hence our ideas of sexual orientation tend to get influenced by Western mores. The fact is that Indian society demands that a duty of a man and woman is to marry (yes marry) and then have children. Both being considered essential for the health of society. India does not experiment with society - like I believe the US does. I suspect Indians have had Indian society for so long - all the experiments are "been there done that". For Indians, Sex to have children is a duty. Sex for fun is not a duty. Its an option. If you enjoy same sex relations you are still not doing your duty. You still need to marry and have children to fulfil your societal duty. So about the question about sexual orientation - it is a very Western question. Sex for what? For fun? Or as a duty? shiv
