Actually - it's perfect if you want an intellectual understanding of the theory, basis, and historical schools of buddhism. If you're looking for self-help or spirituality, I'm a big fan of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi's "Zen Mind, Beginner Mind" but then I'm one of "those" western zen buddhists. -- Charles
