Yes.

It is okay for persons interested in a specific topic to specifically to email 
the poster concerned if they are truly interested in an answer. For topics that 
are complex enough, answering may require additional research and since time is 
a constraint, time for that may need to be scheduled by the poster, and so it 
is okay for those interested to send a friendly reminder or two in private to 
the poster.
