In all of this I would be remiss if I did not call out the excellent balancing act done by Jairam Ramesh [0,1,2], but he was kicked upstairs because he was being too effective as the environmental minister. Just before the Durban round, he was replaced by Janathi Natarajan [3], another politician whose skills I respect. However it is nevertheless a serious setback to lose a capable and efficient minister to big business interests.
