On the other hand, if there is any country that can come closest to achieving a post-racial society, it is the United States. A strong synthetic "American" identity (Apple pie, High school prom, Superbowl, three-car garages, etc.) has already contributed to the almost complete dissolution of Italian/Irish/Polish/German/English identities within a couple of generations after immigration (at least among the "whites").
