The canonical three categories of swearing are blasphemous, scatalogical,
and obscene. Different cultures emphasize different styles and analyzing
patterns of swearing is fascinating. Italian, for example is primarily
blasphemous. "dio cane" "Porco dio" etc. Russian is obscene. My impression
is that Indian is primarily obscene.
