Is it so strange? Women (Catholic or otherwise) largely support birth
control. It gives them more control over their bodies, and leads to a
better quality of life for them and their children. It is largely the
religious men (who better to give advice to young married couples than a
weird old unmarried dude in Rome who wears elaborate clothes?) who are
afraid of birth control.
